M.M. Rice Mill (Private) Ltd. since 2007, owns and operates 3 Rice Mills and Warehouses along with Weigh Bridges, where rice is milled, packed in polypropylene bags, inspected and approved by SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance) – a multinational company headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland which provides inspection, verification, testing and certification. After being certified for quality by SGS, it is then exported in bulk and containers.

The Rice Mills are all located within Port Qasim Industrial Zone. Rice Mill 1 and 2 are on Main Port Qasim Road (Western Zone) and Rice Mill 3 is in the Eastern Zone of Port Qasim. They all are equipped with Pre-Cleaners, De-Stoners, Paddy Separators, Abrasive and Mist Polishers, Length Graders, Colour Separators (Sortex by Buhler) and Holding Bins.

Collectively they mill 1000 Metric Tons per day, and all are equipped with state of the art Sortex Machines by Buhler based in Uzwil, Switzerland – a specialised technology company for plant and equipment for processing foods, operating in more than 140 countries.

The company went the extra mile and invested heavily by purchasing Sortex by Buhler to achieve prime quality milling. The Sortex Machines at M.M. Rice Mills scan millions of grains of rice in a few seconds using High-resolution monochromatic and bi-chromatic visible cameras to detect the subtlest product defects and foreign matter. In addition, their high speed rejecters then simultaneously remove these foreign elements to yield safe and healthy, prime quality rice.
